Percussion circles

Jordi Vinyoles

The UniSo Percussion Circle is a participatory musical experience where rhythm becomes a common language and the group a single voice. Sitting in a circle, each person has an instrument —drum, small percussion or sound object— and, guided by the facilitator, they let themselves be carried away by the beat of the present moment, creating a large spontaneous orchestra full of energy, connection and harmony.

This activity is open to all ages and groups —schools, companies, festivals, health centers, residences or wellness retreats— and can be carried out both indoors and outdoors.

Percussion circles allow you to work on aspects such as group cohesion, communication, active listening, trust, creativity or stress management, adapting each session to the group's objectives. Among its main benefits, stress reduction, improved coordination and attention, stimulation of creativity, strengthening group feeling and creating a deep sense of community through shared sound stand out.

When experience merges with the 4th UniSo, the session takes on a completely new dimension. The rhythms, sounds, and voices of the quartet amplify the energy of the circle and project it into a deeper, more vibrant, and shared space. The presence of the musical group transforms every moment into a more vivid, emotional, and memorable experience for all participants, who feel transported by a unique and immersive sonic atmosphere.

The power of the drums, the warmth of the string instruments, and the sensitivity of the wind melodies surround the facilitator, creating a soundscape that allows for more musical, playful, and spontaneous dynamics. This combination opens the door to a wide range of expressive possibilities: from movement exercises guided by specific pulses, to improvised bodily responses, moments of active silence, or collective rhythmic games that strengthen group cohesion.

Moreover, the presence of the quartet helps each participant connect with the activity on a deeper level. Live sound enhances concentration, increases the sense of presence, and boosts the ability to listen—both inwardly and toward others. The circle thus becomes a space where music not only accompanies, but also inspires, supports, and transforms.

Uniting with the sound, each beat adds to the rhythm of the group.
